Introduction	The AIUYF aims to develop links and foster understanding and dialogue between Australian and Indian university students. IDP Education Australia Ltd decided on a theme of ‘sustainability’ for the 2008 AIUYF because of its highly topical nature and relevance across a broad range of disciplines. Forum participants were selected from Australian and Indian universities, based on a demonstrated interest in sustainability, leadership ability and an outstanding academic background.
