| Introduction | I have been a midwife for over 23 years working across public, private and academic sectors in clinical, education, project and management roles. I have recently undertaken multiple project management roles and these have included the Virtual Maternity Care project for the Caboolture maternity unit, setting up visiting rights for Private Practice Midwives at Caboolture and Redcliffe hospital and more recently completing the Midwifery Models of Care project for EB 9 across QLD. This project investigated the barriers inhibiting midwives to work to their full scope of practice including funding and insurance issues. The project also reviewed the current career structure for midwifery and the potential for a new career structure that supports midwives across their careers to provide woman centred care in all areas of their practice, supporting autonomy and professional practice. I maintain a small midwifery caseload of women within my substantive position and love being a mother to 4 beautiful children and a grandma to a gorgeous and cheeky grandson. I am incredibly lucky to be supported by my husband and family to do the best job in the world - Midwifery!!! |
| Interests | I am a passionate person who loves life and enjoys seeing amazing natural formations like caves, rivers, rock formations etc. I like camping, reading and climbing mountains and I would love to learn ballroom dancing and go hot air ballooning. I love empowering and supporting women to be the best they can - that is why I am a midwife. |
