Introduction Jacqueline P. Ashby, Ed.D., CertUrbDes is a researcher, educator and outdoor enthusiast. When she’s not scrambling up mountains and surfing the seas, she may be found down a rabbit hole studying the relationship between students and their learning environment. An international speaker on campus ecology and environmental design, Jacqueline develops and delivers workshops and presentations on designing environments for creativity and innovation, ecological planning, educational sustainability, student engagement, and student success. She is the recipient of several awards including the 2015 Environmental Design Research Association’s Certificate of Research Excellence (CORE) Award, Simon Fraser University’s Graduate Fellowship, and the EDUCAUSE Jane N.
