Introduction A British conservationist working in Latin America since 1999 and in Peru since 2003. I am country program coordinator for Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) in Peru. FZS works in support of the Peruvian Government National Natural Resource Agency (INRENA) to protect six large, globally important, protected areas of south-eatern Peru. These areas are the most biodiverse protected areas on the planet. FZS has 11 staff based primarily out of offices in Cusco and Puerto Maldonado. The flagship project has been the Giant Otter conservation project. I am also scientific director of the Dry Forest Research Station (CIBS Chaparri) in the Chaparri Private Conservation Area in north-western Peru and have overseen the conservation program for the Critically Threatened White-winged Guan there. I am also involved in ecological research projects on Spectacled Bears, Pampas Cats, Andean Cats and Orinocco Geese. I occasionally lead birding and wildlife holidays in Peru and elsewhere and have written four books with two more in preparation.
Interests Wildlife, Science, Photography.
