| Introduction | The Operative is about observations on the messiness of being human, balancing objective discernment with subjective insights. It's been said, "When you stop growing, you start dying." I prefer to think of it as we are either being transformed or becoming obsolete. My blog is an examination of that reflection. BIO: Creativity is at the core of my pursuits, from pottery and stained glass to writing and playing music (guitar & bass). Initially aiming to be a songwriter, I was sidetracked by a teaching career, where I met the love of my life, Kari. Five years later, we married, then ran our business together while I earned my Master's and Craftsman degrees, along with being inducted into the Intl. Photography Hall of Fame. We soon welcomed three remarkable children, making parenting our focus. We loved California, but its decline became untenable. So we put our tract home up for sale, and well, the first thing you know, we're millionaires. Our kin folk said we ought to move away from there. Said Texas is the place you oughta be! So we loaded up our truck, and we moved to Boerne. Hills, that is, swimming pools and whisky bars. Stay tuned. |
