| Introduction | I spent most of my life in the pursuit of God through Buddhism and various new age means, with some Christian exposure here and there through the Lutherans and Baptists. The largest portion of my life was spent in Buddhism. Mostly Pure Land Buddhism, (Jodo Shinshu), where I took vows with an Abbott. My conversion to Roman Catholicism began more or less in 2003 over the course of some serious discussions with a Methodist friend at work, and really blossomed in January 2004 while traveling accross country with an audiobook that I was inexplicably attracted to at a truck stop called "The Lamb's Supper", by Scott Hahn. I found a parish and began attending Mass. My wife, (formerly atheist), began to attend Mass with me. The two of us enrolled in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), and on Easter Vigil of 2006 we were both brought into full communion with the Catholic Church. |
