About me

Introduction Jason Ody is a software developer with over five years of professional experience and many more on the side. While in elementary school, he started programming on a Commodore 64 and realized that computers had the potential to change the world. From that moment, he knew he was destined for a career in software development. With experience in C#, VB, C, C++, JavaScript, Python and Go, you wouldn’t be wrong if you thought of him as a bit of a polyglot programmer. Currently, he's getting his hands dirty building apps with the ME*N (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular.js/Knockout.js/etc & Node.js) stack.

Jason really enjoys teaching and helping developers become better at what they do. He has four years of experience teaching in Japan and draws on this when mentoring, leading workshops and making presentations.

In his spare time, Jason volunteers with his local Code for America brigade working on projects to help improve civic engagement and make government services easier to use. Outside of coding, he enjoys backpacking in the Californian wilderness and brewing beer.
