| Introduction | Currently I am in the Health Management and Policy program at Oregon State University. I plan on completing the next year at Oregon State graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science, majoring in Health Management and Policy along with a minor in Health Promotion and Behavior. I also plan to graduate with an option in Long Term Care and will be receiving a Certificate of Gerontology. After I graduate from Oregon State I plan on getting my Master’s of Public Health and start my career as an administrator in a hospital or long term care facility within the Northwest. The course requirements for the Health Management and Policy major will help facilitate my aspirations of becoming a health care leader in the near future, as well as teaching me the importance of providing affordable and accessible health care for all populations. I plan on becoming actively involved within the health care system and would love to become an inspiring leader, encouraging others in this field to do the same. |
| Interests | Since being at Oregon State I have become an active member in my sorority, Delta Delta Delta. Being in the sorority has given me the opportunity to become involved in philanthropies of all kinds. As a member I have helped raise money for St. Jude’s hospital through Tri-Delta’s annual pancake breakfast and annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament, both of which are held in Corvallis. I have participated in the Relay for Life at Oregon State for 2 years and plan on attending again this year. Alongside being involved with the sorority I have also found time to join three different clubs on campus, the American College of Health Care Administrators, Oregon State University’s Society of Healthcare Executives, and Health and Human Sciences Student Executive Council. I am currently the Vice President of the American College of Health Care Administrators and on the community service board of the HHS Student Executive Council. During my time away from school and the sorority I spend most of my time at home with my family in Hood River, backpacking, boating, snowboarding, playing cards, and taking pictures. I love being outdoors and living an active and healthy lifestyle. |
