| Introduction | Hello my name is Dr. Elizabeth Klipfell. I am in the Bachelor's Plus teacher licensure program in Integrated Science grades 7-12 at Ashland University. I got my BS from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in Animal Science with a minor in Chemistry, and my Ph.D. in Integrative Biosciences with a focus on Cell and Developmental Biology from Penn State. My thesis was on the identification and characterization of protein-protein interactions in Drosophila (fruit flies). After graduating in 2006, I started working at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute doing cardiovascular diagnostics and cancer research. I have 4 years of teaching experience at the college level during my graduate studies and have always loved teaching others. Thus I am making a career change so I can teach upper level high school science. |
