Introduction I've been thinking about film making for a long time. I've been thinking about living my life more consequentially for even longer. My fiancee, Kim Grützmacher had been in touch with International Animal Rescue about volunteering there. We thought it might be a great opportunity for both of us to contribute to a cause we believe in. I wrote a proposal to document I.A.R. Indonesia's work at the Rescue Center in Java. To my delight it was accepted. I've collected the Indy film maker's basic equipment, a Panasonic DVX100, good mics, tripod, a book and some great advice and we're flying to Jakarta on Saturday, the 24th of May. I'm very excited to interview the people involved in the project, to hear the opinions of local people, but most of all, to see the animals and how the project works at re-socializing and reintroducing them to the wild.
