Introduction	I grew up in Cloverdale, British Columbia, Canada with farm fields to the left and coastal mountains to the right. My first experience in a dark room was in high school, but it wasn't until my final years of university that I began to develop film on a regular basis. I found my inspiration down by the train tracks off of 168th Street, as well as in the backstreets and on the dusty shelves of the antique shops and second-hand stores in Cloverdale and Vancouver. When I moved to Tokyo in 2005, I continued to roam the backstreets and alleyways, looking for color, lines and space. Tokyo is an amazing city with more backstreets than I will ever be able to explore, but on those cool spring evenings or humid summer weekends, I set out in search for a new corner or crevice. In a city like this, however, I hardly have to search; usually the images will present themselves to me, offering themselves to me as I walk home from work or as I ride my bike downtown. Those are my favorite moments, my favorite photographs.
