| Introduction | We are daring to live our dream. This year our lives changed in that we went from a large house, full of children laughing to one child and two guest rooms and utter silence. Five years ago, we made a choice to live life and not allow it to live us. We both took part-time jobs and worked hard in order to live and play hard and have the time to do it. Well, the rat race has begun to encroach on that. I'm not getting home until 9 or 10 at night in order to cram my work week into 4 days (as was our agreement) and Darin's work is starting to demand Friday's and weekends. What was once sacred is becoming expendable. With our last little munchkin at home and realizing there were days I didn't even see her, we had a serious chat and decided this is not what we are about. We don't want to work all week to recoup all weekend just to work all week. I want cook dinner for my daughter and I want my husband to have a garden. I lived on Oahu as a little girl and my soul cried for Hawaii and to my surprise and delight it resonated with my husband’s. We invite you on our journey to reclaim what is important to us and maybe inspire you to dare to live your dream too. |
