About me

Introduction	Joe is a lifelong resident of Brock Township. After a thirty-five year career, Joe retired from the position of Associate Director of Education with the York Region District School Board. Over his career, Joe served the York Region public school system as a teacher, principal and superintendent. Joe has studied extensively at the University of Toronto - Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. He holds a master’s degree in educational administration and a doctorate in curriculum design. His doctoral research examined the value of computer technology as an instructional tool. Since his retirement, Joe has provided school consultative services to the Ogemawahj Tribal Council, an association of local First Nations communities. His interest in public schools and his passion to promote their success led to his seeking election as a school trustee on the Durham District School Board a position that he has held for the past 8 years. Since 2011, he has chaired this school board.
