| Introduction | The Narberth Beer Runners is a free club, open to anyone over 21, who likes to run, socialize and drink quality beer. An offshoot of the Fishtown Beer Runners, NBR aims to bring together runners of all abilities, encourage exercise, provide camaraderie, and support local businesses. The mission of the Fishtown Beer Runners is to test the results of the study by Manuel J Castillo-Garzon, MD, Professor of Medical Physiology, School of Medicine, University of Granada. The study said that beer and water have similar rehydration effects when comparing a moderate amount of beer to the same amount of water. The Narberth Beer Runners gather every 1st and 3rd Wednesday, in the name of science, to run and drink in moderation. We'll meet at the Narberth station, south steps at 6:30 and run to a predetermined local bar. The routes will typically be between 2 and 5 miles. We will run the first ¼ mile together, allowing runners to ease into their own paces after that. All members are permitted to take a route of their choosing if they wish to shorten or lengthen their run (just arrive at the bar, no questions asked!). We'll meet at the bar and celebrate the run with a few quality beers. |
