If I could explore the most far flung reaches of some distant countryside and lose myself in the exotic cultures of peoples yet unseen it would still be for naught. If I climbed to the highest peak and overlooked the grandeur of a boundless horizon spread out before me, limitless in possibilities and abundant in freedom, even this would be counted as loss. For if I have not someone to share it with, if I have not someone to hear the stories as they flow from tongue and read the musings as they drip from my pen, then truly I have nothing at all. |
