| Introduction | Michael Hoet, Belgian illustrator, muralist and visionary artist Barbel Hoet, writer, editor and artist. The artist couple has been traveling the North American continent (Turtle Island) from head to tail, from BC Canada, US to Mexico for over 14 years. Art and writings are impregnated with the journey's creative experiences. The deep human need and desire to roam the wilderness are but one feature reflected in their creations. Michael and Barbel`s work have been exhibited internationally in Spain, Germany, Minnesota, US, Cuernavaca, Valle de Bravo and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. In 2009 the artist couple came to Minnesota, Camphill Village, where they offered their services as care partners and art instructors for adults with developmental disabilities. They edited and illustrated bi-annual newsletters for this international non-profit organization. Recently Barbel and Michael moved to Cottonwood, Arizona, where they find the most amazing inspirations to deepen their creative journey. |
