Introduction | My new definition of success: I used to think I needed to make a certain amount of money to be considered a success and have the finer things in life to be viewed as successful. I now know that being a success is to be able to look at your life and be satisfied with who you are. I have been blessed in my life with many things, but my greatest blessing is the burden of Parkinson's because it has given me the ability to be a better person than I thought was possible. Success to me is not to impress but impressing the guy that looks back at me in the mirror with what I give. From Ann--When we first had confirmation of Ken’s diagnosis of Parkinson’s we were devastated not so much by the news rather by the unknown. It was shortly after that November day in 2004 I decided to educate myself on the why, what and when questions of Parkinson’s disease. Being part of raising awareness and funds for Parkinson’s is what we did and it has been a life changing experience for us. We hope to be celebrating a cure and knowing in some way we had something to do with it. |
