| Introduction | I am just an ordinary individual on my path of self discovery. Everything I write is a reflection of this journey of mine. I believe that the concept of 'selflessness' is a myth. For instance, I love to make others happy, primarily because it gives me happiness, even though on the surface it might seem like a selfless act, even to myself. It always comes down to the 'self'. Why do I keep harping on this fact? Simply because I want other seemingly 'selfless' people to take that immense burden of 'righteousness' and 'selflessness' off their backs and just follow their hearts and true inner selves ... makes life easier and leaves no room for 'martyrdom' or 'self sacrifice', that invariably creeps into the sensibilities of such individuals at one point or the other, which in turn serves as a deterrent to self growth, the sole & the prime objective of our lives. One can never go wrong if one follows one's inner voice. There is nothing beyond and before the 'self'. It's not a myth that one can find all the greatness/beauty of the universe and even God, if one looks well enough, within oneself. |
