| Introduction | I'm a screenwriter first and foremost, having spent my life worshipping at the altar of cinema. I currently reside in the overcrowded tray marked 'aspiring'. I did manage a few quick visits to the tray marked 'accomplished' before being plopped right back in the former tray. God is fickle with his paperwork, but escape is only a matter of time. I've written eight screenplays; horror, romantic comedy and comedic drama (whatever that is). Two were optioned before being dropped again; one due to financial concerns, the other due to the 'creative differences' (to put it mildly). A third is currently in the hands of a fairly well known producer and has been for an aeon, although I am assured that 2009 will be the year he finally secures the financing. I also recently won the Rocliffe writers forum contest at BAFTA. Hey, it was a good night out even if nothing else really came of it. I am now dabbling in the world of the printed page, converting one of my screenplays into a novel. I'm also working on a new book with a fellow writer (and kindred spirit). :-) |
