Introduction My approach to a yoga asana practice is gentle. I specialize in teaching "gentle yoga" classes. Depending on the abilities of those in attendance to my classes, we either exercise using chairs, the floor, or a combination of both. Yoga asana (posture) practice is done in a state of acute awareness and relaxation. For me, a gentle approach seems to be of greater benefit than more vigorous styles of yoga. My classes consists of chanting, various asana positions and strength building exercises, pranayama, deep relaxation, and meditation. My intention is to offer a class that makes yoga accessible to those with various physical limitations as well as to those who prefer a mild yoga practice. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves physically, while at the same time respecting any limitations of their body. Having a regular yoga practice is a way to help bring health to the body, calmness to the mind, and awareness of a peaceful soul.
