| Introduction | a voyeur, an observer, a traveler, a cynic, an optimist, a student of life... Well a few asked me about the name on my profile. Some thought I now have what they call Christian name and others thought may be there are 3 persons who own the blog. Well both Calvin and Dilbert are my favorite cartoon strip characters and I associate different parts of my personality with them. Calvin is a six year old carefree boy. In Bill Watson's own words, inside every adult is a bratty kid who wants everything his own way. Calvin reminds me of my own immaturity and represents my curiosity about the natural world. Calvin in me ridicules my own obsessions and comments on the human nature. He, with all his immaturity, is the philospher and social critic in me. Dilbert is the cubicle engineer who loves technology for the sake of technology. Dilbert in me represents the frustration of the corporate world. In his frustration and apathy towards it, I could find humor in my own situation. |
