| Introduction | Hey everyone, my name is Cortney and I am 22 years old. I am currently a senior at Brigham Young University-Idaho, majoring in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. I was born and raised in the exciting city of Las Vegas, but Idaho has stollen my heart. I am blessed with the most amazing family and friends. They are my world and have helped me through the ups and downs of life. I was born with Cystic Fibrosis, diagnosed at three months old. CF is a genetic disease that affects how many of my organs work, but is mainly known as a lung disease. Many people think that would discourage me or hold me back, but really it is what pushes me to set goals and keeps me motivated to always do my very best. I like to look at my CF as a blessing, it gives me opportunities to grow and learn that others may never have. I try my hardest to keep a smile on my face and try and find the positive in all things. Every day we are one step closer to a cure! |
