| Introduction | "And this grayspirit yearning in desire to follow knowledge like a sinking star beyond the utmost bounds of human thought." -Ulysses by Tennyson. Geeta Boodansingh was born in Trinidad on February 18th 1981 (a most auspicious date). She has been described by the Chinese Zodiac (courtesy Facebook) as a ‘Metal Rooster’, a disturbingly accurate description, even though she professes not to believe in such things. She is a graduate of UWI, pursuing a career that has absolutely nothing to do with literature, and where the only writing skills she demonstrates is a notoriously bad handwriting. But she loves her job anyway, even though she complains all the time! Her writing at this time is merely for her own relaxation and emotional release, ranging form poetry to short stories (usually fantasy or sci- fi). Her literary inspirations include Tennyson, Tolkien, Marrion Zimmer Bradley and many more. When asked where her inspiration comes from she has been known to reply with either “life in general” or “I write what the voices so command.” Which answer is the truth has yet to be determined. |
