| Introduction | I am not a prophet; I'm not even particularly holy. But sometimes I have conversations with Jesus "in my mind" to quote Eddie Izzard. And sometimes he "says" some wise stuff, so I thought I would share. For those of you who don't understand that reference, Eddie Izzard is a comedian. There is, therefore, the assumption here that the conversations are not real; I don't claim to see visions or hear the voice of Jesus of Nazareth. At least no more than anyone who tries to have a regular prayer-life. That is after all what prayer is, to quote the Catholic Encyclodpedia, “Meditation is a form of mental prayer consisting in the application of the various faculties of the soul, memory, imagination, intellect, and will, to the consideration of some mystery, principle, truth, or fact…” And for those of you who choose to be offended by this blog...that is just very sad. “It is a great burden to be perfect...Unable to accept ourselves as we are, we wear ourselves out in an effort to become unimpeachable” --Joan Chittister. I hope you can open your own heart and mind and especially your imagination to the stirrings of inspiration in your own lives. |
