| Introduction | The day my boss told me "I hate paper" I knew I was in a diminishing category. The night I realized that I sleep with books, I knew I would end up alone. And I'm OK with it. In fact, I am embracing my dinosaur-hood. I decided that, unlike bones dug up by paleontologists, I would not roll over and be buried by encroaching terrain, or in my case, electronics. I would declare my allegiance to words printed on paper and die with ink on my fingers. At least when you dig me up, you'll know I was reading. Print. |
| Interests | Reading (even cereal boxes if I'm caught without a book or magazine); writing, in fact this blog is my retirement practice; granddaughters; the desert; local cafes; finding "fine places to sit." |
| Favorite movies | Anything B&W, 40s. Or facsimile thereof. |
| Favorite music | Jazz. Preferably live. |
| Favorite books | Shorter list is what I can't finish. Anything with "Kite" in the title. Some recent additions: "Recapitulation" by Wallace Stegner, "A Supremely Bad Idea" by Luke Dempsey, "Rebecca" Daphne du Maurier. Childhood favorite: "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith. |
