| Introduction | Hi my name is Jen and my wonderful husband is Eric. We went on our first date on June 10, 2008. Eric proposed on October 10, 2009 in Puerto Rico right before we were scheduled to leave for a 7 day Caribbean cruise (I guess he was feeling pretty confident). In Feb 2010, at my annual OB visit, I discussed with my doctor my upcoming wedding and our desire to have children and given my medical history, he ran some tests to check my fertility status. The results were not good. I stopped birth control the very next month (without telling Eric...bad, I know, but I knew how much he wanted kids and I just thought I would feel better marrying him knowing I wouldn't be crushing his dreams). I did not get pregnant but still married him on October 10, 2010. It took us until June 2011 to finally get pregnant and we were so excited (Eric was surprised but also excited). We told EVERYONE! Then, while on vacation in Yellowstone in August, we miscarried. We tried again using charting with timed intercourse and nothing. We started seeing a fertility specialist and tried Femara, Clomid and IUI, Femara again but with IUI, and then started IVF. This is the story of our IVF journey. |
