| Introduction | Cindy Gray is a Christian artist who specializes in portrait painting. She studied art and design at Middle Tennessee State University. After University, she accepted a position at Animax, in Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked with a team of artists to design and create characters for TV, Theme Parks, and the Theater. She began to paint full time after moving to a quiet little community which sits in the shadows of the Cumberland Plateau in South Central Tennessee. With her children now grown, she still happily resides there with her supportive husband, Rick, who partners with her to create works of art. Though inspired by the beauty of her surrounding, Cindy is drawn to the “human” landscape. The mystery, overwhelming joy, innocence, or aged wisdom expressed by the subtle lines and forms of one’s face is the inspiration for her art. She hopes that her portraitures will be enjoyed, not just by this generation, but by generations to come. This is her Personal Statement: “I am not my own.
