Introduction	I am happiest in the company of animals and in the outdoors. Peaceful by nature, I can usually find the same calm there and if not there, in the act of painting. With a degree in medical illustration, I worked successfully in that field and in graphic design. While I gained a great deal of knowledge and skill from those years, my work now marks a return to my first love- drawing animals. I love the act of painting, working mostly in oil, pastel and watercolor, and as I am firmly grounded in reality, I love bringing that to the canvas. I work from my own photos and imagination, altering things to make a painting not just of a life-like animal, but to display a little of the mystery, joy, and other emotions present in all living things. I live a happy life with my husband on a small farmette west of Kalamazoo surrounded by our dog, cat, horses and periodic return visits by our son and daughter and their expanding families.
