| Introduction | Who am I, 1JB, aka TW Ella, Tombe the Mist and assorted other titles, or just plain John Bain. Started with the club out of school in 1977 which was an experience for a young skinny fresh faced pup out of GPS rugby (playing Merrylands, Blacktown High OBs, Greystanes et al was eye opening ('buckets of blood Merrylands'). Was taken in immediately by the cameraderie of the club, getting to play with 'legends' from my early days at the school who turned out to be 'normal' blokes. I hung around for a while - playing coaching and administering, was President from 1994 to 1997. I like to think getting colts started in 1994 was a pretty good legacy.Also establishing the OIRFC onto the WWW in 1997 was fun and hopefully beneficial. |
