| Introduction | I was born and raised in Eastern Iowa, which remains the home base for my travels. I believe in slow travel, exploring new destinations one hike at a time, absorbing the geography up close, and meeting fascinating people en route. I hold a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing from Chatham University’s nationally recognized program in Pittsburgh, where I completed a Concentration in Travel Writing, as well. I've taken field-writing seminars in Nova Scotia and Spain, and have attended workshops at the prestigious University of Iowa’s annual Summer Writing Festival and Chatham University’s annual Literary Festival, “Bridges to Other Worlds.” My articles, essays, and reviews have appeared in local and regional newspapers and journals. |
