| Introduction | I grew up amongst the green hills in Woodstock, Vermont. Then after High School I decided to challenge myself and go someplace completely different from what I was used to. This opportunity came when I was accepted to the George Washington University in Washington, DC. After four years of playing in the city and studying socio-cultural anthropology I graduated. But I found, like many of my other classmates, that the country was embarking on a state of economic hardship. After eight months of searching I have finally found a job as the Field Trip Coordinator at Calypso Farm and Ecology Center, an organic farm in Ester Alaska. I am excited to learn and experience organic farming at a time when local food is becoming increasingly more important to the health of our planet. |
