| Introduction | I lived the first 50 years of my life just Existing and wondering why life had to be so hard. It seemed every time I got up I was knocked back down. Life had not been kind but it got me to where I am now. I raised two children with disabilities and they are my pride and greatest work of art. I am now widowed and retired. I love the quiet of early mornings, a cup of hot tea, watching birds at my feeders, needle and thread in hand, a good book, old movies, a soft refreshing rain, and the simple things in life. I am on a journey that will not be derailed again. Yes, some detours for sure but not deraiIed. The hardest lesson learned is that in always taking care of others I didn't take care of me. I am inportant too. Through it all I have found understanding, peace and joy. I know I am guided everyday by those that touched my life but no longer here physically, To them much love and heart felt gratitude. My purpose is to let others know there is always hope, there is always joy and it all begins with love for yourself. |
