About me

Introduction Ian has been professor of Information Systems at the London School of Economics since 1986. He has very radical yet constructive views on his subject, and is very critical of what he calls “the pseudo-science of Information Systems.” He has gained a certain notoriety worldwide for his aggressive polemics against the inappropriate use of artificial intelligence and so-called knowledge management, and against the hyperbole surrounding ‘e-commerce.’ The Times has called him the 'Angell of Doom', and the Guardian the 'Guru of Gloom.' See www.ianangell.com. Ash has been researching business applications at LSE for 8 years. He teamed up with Ian over three years ago to work on a number of teaching and research projects. Ash has now returned home to India, where he is keen to become actively involved in its burgeoning economy. He and Ian still operate as a team, and this blog is just one example of their partnership.
