| Introduction | Welcome to the Vegas Ketch's site! We live near Las Vegas, Nevada with four pets and a great home! Moving to a suburb of Las Vegas in late 2002, after over 40 years near Chicago, we continue to explore and find new things to do in the city that never sleeps. Our site's motto, "Welcome to Las Vegas", was coined by Lisa to describe the less than great things that can happen here...example: One of the many crazy driver's blows a stop light (common here), Lisa says "Welcome to Las Vegas". Lately this has become shortened to just "Welcome!" We all laugh whenever she says it. Why we are here: Rick worked for a large telecom co. for 23 years until his job was outsourced to China(!) With little opportunities in the metro Chicago area in late 2002, we decide to move west, like the early pioneers, to start a new life. The "west" in this case was "Vegas Valley". So here we are!
