| Introduction | I am not originally from Austin but since I have lived here for over 14 years, I consider it my home. I have seen a lot here, from partying on 6th Street seeing live music to touring the capitol building and museums. Austin, Texas is known as the live music capitol of the country, and the home of our former president. Politics has not really been an interest in my life until I went back to college. I have voted every year since I was 18 years old, but I really didn’t have a lot of political knowledge. I am taking this Government course as part of finalizing my degree and in the process I would like to gain more knowledge of the electoral process, the role of the president, and the importance of legislation. |
