Introduction In July 2015, Annie Burton, MD, began her fellowship at the University of Minnesota Department of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation, where she focuses on pain management. Annie Burton, MD, earned her bachelor of science in math and zoology from the University of Wisconsin and went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Subsequently, she fulfilled her residency at the University of Minnesota, Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Burton has both written and oral certifications from the American Board of Anesthesiology. Her experience includes serving as a laboratory assistant at the University of Wisconsin, where she completed research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Furthermore, she has written publications in the Journal of Biological Chemistry. From 2008 until 2014, Annie Burton, MD, worked as an Anesthesiologist and medical director at Wayzata Plastic Surgery, in Minnesota. She also founded her own independent business in 2009, in Burnsville, Minnesota, offering anesthesia services to ambulatory surgery centers. After completing her fellowship in July 2016, Dr. Burton intends to care for patients with acute and chronic pain.
