| Introduction | When I talk about the "last best hope of earth", I am referring to America. Perhaps some of you from other countries will find that a bit arrogant. But I'm really referring to the ideals of America as laid down by the Founding Fathers and great men like Abraham Lincoln. The reason I chose this title is because of Bill Bennett's book, "America: The Last Best Hope" and that it led me to reread American history and to study what Lincoln said during such a tragic, yet triumphant, period of our history. |
