| Introduction | I'm a journalist on hiatus. I'm working a part-time retail job right now so I can spend valuable time with my 15 month-old daughter Emmie. I'm also mommy to Layla, my lhasa-apsa/poodle mix. I've been married for nearly five years now to a college professor who I'll just call Doc. I don't really know why, as I doubt anyone who reads this blog won't already know who he is, but whatever. It seems like the trendy thing to do, and who am I to buck the system? I am a Michigan native who has been following Doc around from state to state as he finished school in Illinois, landed a one year gig in Ohio and then got hired at a PA university. We're far from friends and family, but settling into life...more or less anyway...in the mountains of PA. I don't know if this blog will be a therapeutic outlet, or just a way to keep in touch with loved ones. Maybe I just miss writing and want to keep my typing skills sharp. Too soon to tell really. But do me a favor and don't judge my writing at a higher level because I've admitted my journalism background. In my professional life, I had editors to check my grammar. : ) |

| Favorite Music | I heart country, 80s, oldies, pop, and really anything I can sing and/or dance to. |
| Favorite Books | To Kill a Mockingbird is my favorite, however in general I love mysteries, trashy romance novels and true crime stories. |
