| Introduction | In mid-life, I became a mother to a baby boy, W (born when I was 40), and a baby girl, E (born when I was 42). I'm finding my way through this "second act," this new life of diapers and sippy cups in middle age. It wasn't an easy road to motherhood and I'm still figuring out how to balance all the parts of me that I don't want to sacrifice (a full time academic career, friendships, love, community engagement, music, among other things). I'm hoping that this blog will help me find my way. Read along and see how it goes--I am definitely a work in progress!
