| Introduction | I was born in 1981 in Geneseo, IL & I have 4 younger siblings. Being a big sister is the best part of my life! I grew up in the Chicago suburbs, went to North Central College in Naperville, married the love of my life, & taught Jr.High for 5 yrs. In 2009, I began experiencing aggressive symptoms & was diagnosed with Lupus which has forced me to stop teaching. I have additional diagnoses that are all a result of Lupus attacking various organs/systems (such as Addison’s Disease--adrenal failure, hypothyroid, Interstitial Cystitis, & Fibromyalgia). Despite all the ways Lupus limits my life, I work hard to maintain a positive attitude, to be proactive, to make the best of each day, and to consciously make the choice to be appreciative of all I do have. I take time to document life and to make sure the people around me know who I am and how I feel about them. My deepest wish is for those nearest to me to know how completely & unconditionally I love them and to know that they are loved not for what they can do, but simply for who they are. |
