| Introduction | Euridice Getulio Kala was born under the Chinese year of the Rabbit−they say the rabbit is sensitive and bla bla bla… as they are small,fast and clever creatures (all relative). Which apparently she/ it father who died when he was 33−used to cook rabbits to perfection, well it's also a thing because as a child she/it had a turtles as a pet and a monkey but they will not feature in this conversation. When its mother was 28 she had 2 kids and had just recently lost her partner, it's sad or it's relative, it's life. Kala was born in Maputo. She/it is an experiment and an artist. She/it dreams are mystically related to itself in another dimension. Nothing is unorthodox in her life yet she/it lives!!! And like many artists, she/it has participated in groups exhibitions in South Africa, Cameroon and internationally. In which she/ it has been fortunate to show and or create work that might make sense in a nearer (depending on perspective) future time. She/it has been also awarded grants to develop ideas, and at this point in its native country (Mozambique), as well as hopes to bridge relationships between Maputo and Johannesburg as long as she/it lives there. |
