Introduction *There is a Native American parable about a grandfather who says, 'I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, angry one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one.' When asked which wolf will win the fight in his heart, the old man replies, 'The one I feed.' These writings feed the wolf that brings me light. *Also inspired by the song Blackbird which The Beatles wrote about the Black civil rights movement. I love the universal simplicity of the words and melody. The idea of having a broken wing, or finding the light in the dark all feel so relevant to what a parent of Neuro-divergent child can experience. The song has always made me feel that we all have the ability to rise up and be strong. And we do!
