| Introduction | A recent graduate from the Teacher's College program at Nipissing University in Canada, I have moved from the comforts of life in Mississauga, Ontario, where I attended University of Toronto for my undergrad, and moved halfway across the world to work and live in the United Arab Emirates. Teaching here in the small town of Al Ain in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, just 1.5 hours from Dubai, has been quite the life experience so far. I have experienced and witnessed things that have stunned me, made me laugh, shocked me to my very core, and made me wonder what I am doing here... to name just a few reactions.
