Occupation Investment Manager
Location New York, New York, United States
Introduction As a 9-year-old I spent the summer in Europe with my parents, an extraordinary experience that forged a path to an international future.

My trading and investment career began during the crash of '87. I started on the bond side, trading illiquid bank and European sovereign bonds. From 1990 I added currencies to the mix, and some time later rounded out the menu with stocks and commodities.

The crash and subsequent banking crisis of the late '80s taught me a reverence for liquidity: There is nothing worse than holding a bad asset you can't sell. Years of experience convinced me of what I had been taught in grad school, namely that diversification of investments is the single most important thing you can do as an investor.

Surprise! I manage portfolios of global, liquid, diversified assets.

I have an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and am a CFA charterholder.
