| Introduction | Lisa Jones Johnson has had her artwork shown in solo and group shows in Los Angeles since the mid 1990s. She has also had her artwork shown on television in a long running Fox series, in television movies and in feature films. She began painting as a child, first studying art at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington DC and then later taking art classes as an undergraduate at Harvard. She began her professional career as an artist in Los Angeles, with her first group show at the M.Hanks Gallery in Santa Monica. With the birth of her son in 2004, she took a hiatus, but recently has begun work on several new series. Some of those pieces can be seen featured in this blog in the "Interview with the Artist" sections. Ms. Jones Johnson works primarily in acrylic, doing both abstract and representational pieces, but also has created works in watercolor and mixed media, combining acrylic, oil pastels and pen and ink. In addition to the new series that she is currently creating, she also does commissioned works. |
