| Introduction | Elco Marinette electric boat, built in Bayonne, NJ, started out as gasoline powered, converted to diesel along the way and then converted to electric with a (modern) Elco EP20 motor. We took ownership in 2017 (Valentine's Day) and have been restoring her ever since and from now on. In 2019, converted batteries to LiFeP0 (lithium Iron phosphate). In 2021, a Mase genset was added that is powered by a [diesel] Yanmar and the original 50-gallon copper fuel tank provides plenty of additional range. |
