Introduction | An art genius, a drum god, an estate agent. Contact me on simon.spare@virgin.net or check out my art on www.simonspare.co.uk |
Interests | Painting, sketching, collage, ceramics, drumming, walking, squash, dogs, learning the guitar, a good cup of coffee, clocks and wristwatches, kites, moleskine. |
Favorite Movies | Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona, American Beauty, Slumdog, Men in Black, Fifth Element, Silverado, Lord of the Rings, Motorcycle Diaries, usual "suspension of disbelief" blockbusters and thoughtful art movies alike, but getting a bit bored with violent foreign language films with a miserable plotline that Love Film keep sending us. |
Favorite Music | In general, World, folk, blues, rock, prog, funk, classical, - specifically, Ali farka Toure, the Zawose Family, Iron & Wine, Tinariwen, Hendrix, Led Zep, Jeff Buckley, Bert Jansch, Davey Graham, Doudou N'Diaye Rose, Arcade Fire, Gomez, Roy Harper, Jane's Addiction, Radiohead, Kelly Joe Phelps, John Martyn, Robert Plant & The Strange Sensation, Joy Division, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Talking Heads, Crosby Stills Nash, Neil Young, Cara Dillon, Bob Dylan, Jim White, lots of world music but not that Orchestra Baobab stuff - lame!! Always a few glittering gems to be discovered at Womad, Banjo music, acoustic guitar singer/songwriter stuff, Vaughn Williams, Elgar, Walton, Taverner etc etc etc plus loads of freaky stuff on Late Junction Radio 3 that I'd never buy but which sounds great at midnight. |
