Introduction	I published my debut novel, The Weeds Are Always Greener, in February 2010. My wife Kimberly and I have two beautiful children, Lindsay and Holden. While writing is my passion, my bill-paying day job is that of a merchandising specialist for a national retailer. I've spent my entire life fighting to escape poverty and live the normal life I deserve. I was raised in a welfare-dependant household and didn't live in a house with running water until I was 17 years old. The rough road I traveled as a child, teen, and young adult has made me the person I am today. While I'm still financially not where I'd like to be, I live a truly blessed life. Though I sometimes let the challenges get me down, I try very hard to live by the following quote from my first book: "...be grateful for the life you're given and fight for the life you deserve. You're only willed what you're willing to accept."
