Introduction | I was born and raised in Chicago, mostly by my paternal grandfather, aka Gramps. He had been a ventriloquist in vaudeville in his younger years, and he pursued it as a hobby in later years. His stage name was The Great Chesterfield. He was definitely an interesting person, and I am glad he was in my life. As I get older, I am finding that I want to learn more about my roots. My past has much to do with the person I am today. I am not, typically, a writer. I always thought of myself more as a scientist. Therefore, I didn't think I could write. I am finally learning differently. I started another blog in 2008. I was too busy to blog much then. Besides, it didn't have any real focus. Now, as I continue to research my family tree, I plan to post successes and failures. I hope to get some feedback and even find a relative or two. Perhaps I can break through some brick walls with the help of others. |
