| Introduction | On 1 May 2023, we started a whole new life in the winelands of Franschhoek in the Western Cape of South Africa. After leading a pretty comfortable, conservative life in Port Elizabeth for the 33 years of our marriage, we grabbed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do something completely different - live and work on a wine farm! Neill had spent his entire career as an engineer in the motor manufacturing industry and retired at the end of 2022. I had spent all of my working life in higher education and after 35 years, took early retirement. This is our story... |
